D’Angelo Russel entered NBA as the No. 2 overall pick in the draft lottery and has gradually progressed as a player. At the start of this year, Russel also replaced Victor Oladipo as the point guard and entered the NBA All-Star for the first time in his career.
Russel has achieved such a status in NBA that the Warriors asked for his name in an exchange deal for Kevin Durant with the Nets. There are other breakout candidates who are young and have the talent to do the same and be the next Russel. Here are the future possibilities for Jabari Parker, Justise Winslow, Jakob Poeltl and Dennis Smith Jr. to be the next NBA star.
Jabari Parker – Atlanta Hawks
Jabari Parker has played in many NBA teams including the Bucks, Bulls, Wizards and is finally a part of Atlanta Hawks for now. He has shown an average of 20.1 per game and is able to throw 38.3 percent from the three-point shooting range. In 2017, Parker suffered from a knee injury and had to undergo an ACL surgery. But now that Parker is back, he can emerge as the next superstar for the Hawks.

Justise Winslow – Miami Heat
Justise Winslow has been doing great for the team of Miami Heat in the last few games. He had an average of 12.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 29.7 minutes played per game during the last season with the Heat team. The best part about Winslow is him shooting 37.7 percent three-pointers since the last two seasons. Jimmy Butler has joined the team of Miami and there are high chances that Winslow also gets his chance to sign in the absence of Dwyane Wade, Josh Richardson, and Hassan Whiteside.
“I think Justise Winslow could quite possibly be an all star, if not a finals MVP runner up” – 2/26/18

Jakob Poeltl – San Antonio Spurs
It would be hard to believe that Jakob Poeltl was traded to the team of San Antonio Spurs as part of the Kawhi Leonard trade deal. There is no what Poeltl can play as good as Leonard, but he has shown promise with an average of a double-double in the 7 games played with the Spurs. Poeltl has a whole season ahead to prove his worth as there are no big names in the Spurs at the moment.
We had a familiar face in the gym today!😁

Dennis Smith Jr. – New York Knicks
New York Knicks were quick enough to realize the true potential of Dennis Smith Jr. and hence they exchanged him from the Mavericks for Kristaps Porzingis. Smith had a field goal percentage of more than 40 percent in the last two seasons. There is a lot of scope for improvement for Smith as the Knicks provide the best atmosphere for a player’s growth.
Dennis Smith Jr has UNREAL bounce 😳
