Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is arguably the biggest and the most popular superstar to set foot inside a WWE Ring. While he stepped out of the company in the early 2000s and was away from in-ring competition for almost a decade, he came back and had a series of matches with John Cena and CM Punk – but has been inactive again. In a recent interview, Johnson confirmed that he has retired from wrestling!
Let us take a closer look at why Rocky decided to call it quits!

The Rock Confirms His Retirement from Wrestling
During an appearance on ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’, The Rock confirmed that he has ‘quietly retired’ from pro-wrestling. However, he added that he loves wrestling and that he misses it. He added that he credits his time in WWE for where he is today. He further stated that the excitement that wrestling in a WWE ring gives him is like no other!
His last match was against Erick Rowan which took place at WWE WrestleMania 32. He has since been rumored to appear at WWE SmackDown’s Fox debut in October but he won’t be wrestling at the event.
It’s impossible that @TheRock reveals he quietly retired from WWE even he might be inducted on the hall of fame. So now @WWERomanReigns is going to be the next rock for sure.

Why Did The Rock Retire?
Being a full-time movie star doesn’t really give The Rock that much time that wrestling requires. There’s also the possibility of being physically hurt (which actually happened to Rocky in his most recent run with the WWE). Given his Hollywood career and insurance-related reasons, it is unlikely that we are ever going to see The Rock wrestle a full match again! Anyway, thank you for the memories, O Great One!
